There have been so few songs that truly celebrate how awesome and influential mothers are in their childrens' lives – the sacrifices they make, the really like they give, plus the way they put so very much time and energy into creating certain that their kids' needs are met above their own. When presented with a option between accomplishing some thing for themselves or accomplishing one thing for their children, mothers will invariably choose their children just about every time. They've even been identified to get superhuman strength to save their kids from dangerous situations. They're awesome!
If you ever think about it, motherhood is really a topic that is every single bit as inspiring as the ever-present song topics “falling in love” or “breaking up.” I mean, those topics are interesting, too, but they are actually done to death already! But motherhood, on the other hand, comes with the many depth of emotion, the many drama, each of the triumph and heartache of any other human experience you could think of – but it's just not written about as much.
When I was a kid, my Mom worked the graveyard shift. That was midnight to seven am at her job. Mainly because my Dad worked during the day, she also had to do every one of the daytime activities that were needed with little children – picking up and dropping off at school, taking us around to activities, etc. She even volunteered in my class one day a week! On individuals days, she only got about two or three hours of sleep.
