I know…this sounds like a really dumb question…I got a used spa (excellent, barely used condition!) from a garage sale and cannot figure out how to unlatch the plastic latches holding the spa cover down. They seem like they should just squeeze and unlatch, but they won’t.
I’ve tried looking for instruction manuals showing how to unlatch the cover, but no luck.
If anyone can tell me how to unhook the latches, or can find an operating manual for a 2003 Balboa Fiesta CalSpa, I qould be VERY appreciative.
Thanks!
Thanks Jim!! There just so happened to be a little black plastic “key” in the bag of miscellaneous parts. The cover latch came off with no problems!!! Yay
Now all i need is an operating manual found online somewhere.
I’ve recently moved into a rental home. After having had a swimming pool for more than 10 years and now none, I’m wanting to buy a portable spa. I’ll be moving to a home in 8 months and need help deciding. Should I get an inexpensive soft spa ($700) one like at Walmart or splurge ($2500) on one like a DreamMaker?
I’ve acquired a spa recently with the purchase of our new house last month. Two days ago I accidentally put too much alkaline raising chemical and now the pH reading is HIGH and the alkalinity reading is VERY HIGH. I can guess the actual readings are off the scale! I stupidly put the “start up” dose instead of the routine top up dose, so I put about 5 times too much. I’ve put the pump/filter on each day for two days, and the water is foaming up. Yesterday and today I added the normal dose of pH lowering chemical. I also have bromine tablets. What should I do next? Will the problem resolve itself after a couple of days? Do I keep putting the pump on each day? Should I again add the same dose of pH lowering chemical or maybe more? We’ve had the spa company in to service the spa, and they advised us to find a spa shop nearby – problem is I haven’t found one so far. Any suggestions? I’m assuming after a couple of days it will resolve itself, but I wanted to check to see.
